On Tuesday, April 25th, presentation of the #GIVECHANCETODREAM (#ДАЙШАНСМРІЇ) social and educational project took place with the participation of the Deputy Chief of the US Mission in Ukraine George Kent, key media people, government officials and business community.
According to Mr. Levytskyi, the project aims to increase awareness among the people who don’t realize that illegal watching of the movies on the Internet harms their creators and prevents production of new films. It was also noted that the problem of the copyright infringement is critical not only for the film industry but also for other sectors, music industry and IT in particular.
Liubomyr Levytskyi (film director and author of the #GIVECHANCETODREAM project) and Christy Anne Hofland (director of the America House) were the hosts of the evening, among the speakers there were George Kent (Deputy Chief of the US Diplomatic Mission in Ukraine), Nadiia Vasylieva (General Manager at Microsoft Ukraine) , Graeme Grant (Head Of Internet Anti-Piracy Operations at the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry), Anatolii Maksymchuk (representative of the Clear Sky (Chyste Nebo) initiative).
Speakers emphasized the importance of protecting intellectual property rights and raising awareness on the consequences of piracy. Thus, it should be understood and remembered that all creative industries provide employment for drivers, lawyers, artists, translators and other professionals. Besides, when a user steals a film, music, or a program, somebody loses their job and dream. As a result, development of a creative layer is hindered, and a possibility to create new jobs in the related industries is eliminated.
During the event, three social ads dedicated to the combating of the video, audio, and IT piracy were presented during the evening and will be further shown on TV and the Internet. Also, #GIVECHANCETODREAM plans to conduct educational and awareness-raising activities, including distribution of the presented social ads, providing access to its web resource and project’s web page in social networks for the purpose of familiarization of the users with the legal resources where, among other things, they can watch movies and listen to music.
#GIVECHANCETODREAM project was made possible thanks to the support of the US Embassy in Ukraine, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the American Chamber of Commerce, the America House, Ukrainian Music Industry Association and Clear Sky initiative.
The idea of the social campaign is simple and complicated at the same time. By the examples of real people, we want to show that anyone can do good. That charity is not difficult. That to do good things is important, in the first place, for the person him or herself. It’s never late to cultivate the best traits in yourself: you can learn this in childhood from your father, or you can come to the charity later, being already mature.
Our heroes are real people that may remind you any of your friends, they can meet you at the business meeting or when you are with your friends. Our heroes are so simple and so close to all of us. These are people who have already formed their vector of kindness in life and are moving in this direction.
Iryna Hutsal, Head of the Ukrainian Philanthropic Market: «Charity, what is it? Is it a well-considered decision, or an emotional impulse? What does a person feel helping others in difficult circumstances? Why is it so important for every conscious citizen? In our social videos, we’ve tried to answer these and other questions. Prove that every person is unique, and charity has no limits. We want charity to become a lifestyle of every Ukrainian. The real help is one that gives a sense of involvement in a miracle, and confidence that you have really supported, fulfilled a dream, or saved a life at ubb.org.ua»
The video features real people who contribute to the good deeds every day.
We believe that our social video will help everyone to find their vector of kindness and change our society for the better.
SLCP (StarLight Commercial Production) Creative United worked on the video.

As was announced at the start of the National Selection 2017, STB undertakes the financial side of O.Torvald’s preparation for their participation in Eurovision. Yesterday, there was a group meeting with the representatives of the channel, during which a further plan of action was communicated.
“STB will handle financing of the direction and visualization of the performance (greasepaint, stage outfits, light, graphics, stage props, choreography). We will also pay for group’s accommodations in the training base for the period of intensive training and rehearsals, and provide visa assistance, organization of the travels and accommodations for O.Torvald in April at the largest annual promotional parties for the participants of the Eurovision – Eurovision In Concert and London Eurovision Party 2017, – said the head of the National Selections, Natalia Franchuk.
This will be the second year of STB channel’s funding of the Ukrainian representative at the International Song Contest. Last year, the channel covered the costs of Jamala’s performance, design of two costumes, and a full 2-week support of the singer and her team of 10 people, including visas, flights, and accommodations in Stockholm (the total amount of financing was 1.5 million hryvnia).
Thanks to Jamala’s victory, this year, Ukraine will host Eurovision. O.Torvald will perform their winning song, Time, in the final of the song contest that will be held in Kyiv on 13 May.
STB Channel continues the shooting of the new large-scale social and entertaining show, Siurpryz, Siurpryz! (Surprize, Surprize!), that will make the dreams of the Ukrainians come true. A Creative Unit of Myroslav Domalevskyi is working on the project.
A legendary entertaining family show prepares the most incredible surprises for the participants and carries out their most cherished dreams. The project is unique as its participants don’t even have a clue that they are nominated for a surprise. This is made possible thanks to their relatives, colleagues, friends, or people who just want to show their gratitude in such an unexpected and very pleasant way. The show brings surprises to people at various places: at home, at work, in a store, on a street or in the studio of the show, where a host meets the participants.
In the Ukrainian version of the Siurpryz, Siurpryz!, the popular Ukrainian TV host, Masha Efrosinina, will be in charge of the studio. She will introduce a variety of participants and their stories to the audience and reveal the surprises that await them for their incredible deeds. With the help of her friends, Masha will amaze the whole country in a series of exciting, touching, moving to tears, and sometimes incredibly funny stories of the participants of Siurpryz, Siurpryz!.
Siurpryz, Siurpryz! is an adaptation of the famous Surprize, Surprize format.
The premiere of the Siurpryz, Siurpryz! will be on STB in autumn, 2017.
